Funeral services were held Friday at 1:30 p.m., at the Trinity Reformed church, Sibley, for Mrs. John Calvin Schipper, 29, who died Tuesday, August 27, at the Sibley hospital,following a lingering illness. Rev. Henry Bovendam officiated at the service and burial was in the Ocheyedan cemetery. Pallbearers were Melvin Truckenmiller, Fred Vander Veen, Jake Braaksma, George Braaksma, Ted Schoon and David Vietor. Mrs. Schipper was born Marlys Noble, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Noble, Decmeber 6 1933, at Sibley. She received her elementary and high school education in Wilson township and at Ocheyedan. She united with the Congregational church at Ocheyedan, and for the past 11 years had been a member of Trinity Reformed church at Sibley. She and John Calvin Schipper were married August 12, 1950 at Sibley. They made their home at Allendorf, where they were living at the time of her death.Besides her husband, she is survived by five children: Lorraine, Lois, Shirley, Janice and Kenneth, all of Allendorf; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Noble of Ocheyedan; and by five brothers and sisters: Merle of Melvin; Art of Maynard, Minn.; Mrs. Lawrence Ketel (Fern) of Russell, Minn; Delbert of Ocheyedan; and Mrs. Lester Gross (Evelyn) of Spirit Lake. She was preceded in death by an infant son, and a brother, Arnold.
