Ray A. Noble, age 86, died Sunday, December 14, 1975, at the Hartley Memorial Hospital in Hartley. Funeral services were held Wednesday, december 17, at the United Methodist church in Ocheyedan. The Rev. Harld Butts was in charge of the services. Interment was in Ocheyedan Township Cemetery at Ocheyedan.

Ray Alton Noble was born January 18, 1889 at Ames, the son of Johnston and Laura (Shattuck) Noble. He came to near May City with his parents about 1901 by covered wagon from Ames. November 26, 1913, he was united in marriage to Anna Johnson at Ocheyedan. They lived all their married life in the Ocheyedan area where he was engaged in farming. They retired to Ocheyedan in 1958. He was a member of the Unted Methodist church in Ocheyedan.

He is survived by five children: Merle of Ocheyedan; Arthur of Maynard, Minn; Fern (Mrs. Lawrence Ketel) of Wanda, Minn.; Delbert of Ocheyedan; and Evelyn (Mrs. Lester Gross) of Spirit Lake; thirty grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

His wife, Anna, preceded him in death in January of 1975; also one son, Arnold, and one daughter, Marlys (Mrs. Cal Schipper), his parents, one brother and two sisters.
Pallbearers were grandsons of the deceased. Mrs. Clarence Hellinga sang "I Walked Today Where Jesus Walked" and the congregation sang "How Great Thou Art." Mrs. Vern Wittrock was organist.
