August 20, 1960 ~ March 12, 2014 (age 53)

LONNIE C. POMRANKE, age 53, of Worthington, MN; passed away on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at his home, after fighting Pancreatic Cancer for over a year. Lonnie Craig Pomranke was born on August 20, 1960 in Worthington, MN; to Wilbur and Judy (Rowley) Pomranke. He graduated from Worthington High School in 1978. He later obtained his Boilers License. He was most recently employed at JBS Swift in Worthington.

Lonnie met his wife, Jane Hoffman Pomranke in 1978 and they later married on June 9, 1984. They have lived their whole married life at their rural Worthington acreage.

Lonnie was a wonderful husband and father, loving to spend family time together. He was an avid hunter, spending many hours hunting with his son Joshua, and many friends over the years. He also enjoyed all aspects of agriculture, including grain farming himself, for a few years. He also farmed many hours "on the phone" with close friends! In the summer, Lonnie loved to spend many nights, grilling for his family and friends. Lonnie had a great sense of humor and loved to joke around and play tricks, especially with his daughter, Erin.

Surviving are his loving wife of 29 years, Jane Pomranke; son Joshua (Kimberly Wilkett) Worthington; daughter Erin (Brett Youngs) Greenfield, WI; sisters, Cindy (Greg) DeGroot, Worthington; Patty (Marshall) Stromberg, Mankato; Shawn (Rich) Schumacher, Stillwater; mother-in-law, Rosemary Hoffman, Wilmont; brothers and sisters-in-law, Chuck & Arlys Hoffman, St. Kilian, MN; Natalie & Ron Popowski, Ivanhoe, MN; Jackie & Gary Rodrigue, Lismore, MN; Paula & Randy Byers, Wilmont, MN; Ed & Mary Hoffman, Sioux City, IA; Don & Hope Hoffman, Goodyear, AZ; Joe & Lisa Hoffman, Lochbuie, CO; many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, and many cousins and good friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur and Judy Pomranke, father-in-law Quentin Hoffman, grandparents, Floyd and Ethel Rowley and Bill and Frieda Pomranke, and aunt Marilyn Vogler.

In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to Sanford Worthington Hospice.

Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Worthington. Lonnie's family is asking that you please write a memory of Lonnie as their will be a memory jar at his visitation and funeral to celebrate his life. Visitation will also be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Monday. The Funeral Service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Dingmann Funeral Home in Worthington with Pastor Irwin Van Leeuwen officiating.
