Services were to be held Wednesday, May 9, 2007, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Tea for Paula Steever who, following a valiant battle with a lengthy illness, died at her home near Tea, SD on Sunday morning, May 6, 2007, surrounded by her family.
She attained the age of 32 years, eight months and 26 days.
Officiating during the service was the Rev. Greg Johnson. Marlys Bergjord was organist. Brenda Sinning sang "One Day At A Time" and "Where The Roses Never Fade".
Pallbearers were Steven Olson, Mitchell Steever, Brad Stenaas, Zach Irwin, Lynn Chilson, and Todd Nielsen.
Interment was held in the Lennox Cemetery.
Paula JoAnn Steever was born Aug. 10, 1974 in Sioux Falls, SD, the daughter of Alvin and Gloria (Klinghagen) Steever. She grew up south of Lennox; attended Lennox public school and graduated from Lennox High School in 1992.
She later moved to Tea where she made her home while being employed for many years at Phoenix Crystals and then at A.A.A. and Sioux Valley Clinic in Sioux Falls.
Paula's passion was her horses. She spent countless hours with them and knew every aspect of horses.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Tea.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Gloria, on Jan. 23, 1988; grandfather, Eldon Steever in 1994; grandfather, Lester Klinghagen in 1966 and grandmother, Bernice Wilts in 1984.
Those most grateful for having shared her life are her father and step-mother, Alvin and Terri Steever of rural Tea; her brother, Mark Steever and his wife, Jennifer, of Lennox; her sisters: Kim Skyberg and her husband, Darrin, of Sioux Falls ,and Karla Nussbaum and her husband, Jarrod "Jake" of Elk Point; her grandmother, Vera Steever of rural Tea; her grandfather, Wilfred Wilts of Longmont, Colorado; her nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins and many, many friends.
