Gloria Jean Steever was born in Sioux Falls, SD on Jul. 1, 1948, the daughter of Lester and Bernice (Reiners) Klinghagen. She grew up in the Tea area where she attended Schoffelman School and later Lennox High School.

On Nov. 28, 1964 she was united in marriage to Alvin Steever at Ebenezer Presbyterian Church in Lennox.

Following their marriage they lived in Tea for five years and then moved to a farm northwest of Lennox where they lived for six years. In 1975 they moved to their farm south of Lennox where they had since lived.

She was preceded in death by her father on Jun. 27, 1965 and her mother on Nov. 26, 1984.

Following a lengthy illness, Gloria died at McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls on Jan. 23, 1988, having attained the age of 39 years, six months and 22 days.

Surviving are her widower, Alvin; one son, Mark Steever of Lennox; three daughters: Mrs. Zene (Kim) Genzlinger of Sioux Falls, Karla Steever and Paula Steever, both at home; two granddaughters: Mistie and Meghan; one grandson, Mitchell; two brothers: Roger Klinghagen of Hutchinson, MN., and Rodney Klinghagen of Newman Grove, NB.; two sisters: Darlene Klinghagen of Tea, and Mrs. Charles (Barbara) Stewart of Lennox; her step-father, Wilfred J. Wilts of Tea; four step-brothers: Jim Wilts and LeRoy Wilts, both of Anchorage, Alaska, Jerald Wilts and Wendell Wilts, both of Erie, CO.; two step-sisters: Mrs. Stan (Patricia) Ainsworth of Spearfish, and Mrs. Greg (Barbara) DeVille of Peoria, AZ; plus a host of other relatives and friends.
