Inland resident, Thomas L. Stroebel, 50, passed away Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at St. Frances Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri due to complications after suffering a massive stroke. Tom was born January 18, 1960 in Algona, Iowa to Laurence and Wanda (Neuman) Stroebel.

The family later moved to Lincoln and then Eagle, where Tom spent his childhood, later graduating from Waverly High School in 1978. Tom married Gloria Barsell on July 19, 1980 and they had three children, Levi, Matthew, and Rebekah. They later divorced. On April 7, 1990, Tom married Karen Jurgens and they had a daughter, Rachel. ...

"Hastings resident, Karen J. Stroebel, 56, passed away Sunday, January 22, 2017 at her home. Services will be Saturday, January 28, 2017; 10:00 A.M. at Butler Volland Chapel, Hastings with Pastor Andrea Paulson officiating. Burial will be in Inland Cemetery, Inland, Nebraska.

Memorials may be given to Leukemia Cancer Foundation, First St. Paul's Lutheran Church, or Orphan Grain Train. There will be no viewing or visitation. Karen was born November 26, 1960 in Beatrice, Nebraska to Harm & Betty (Seckman) Jurgens.

She graduated from Odell High School in 1979. Karen married Thomas L. Stroebel on April 7, 1990; he preceded her in death in June 2010. She was employed as an administrative assistant at Idea Bank Marketing in Hastings.

Karen was a member of First St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Harm & Betty (Seckman) Jurgens; husband, Thomas L. Stroebel; and sister and brother-in-law, Janine & Bob Cooper.
