"Menno Folkerts, 71

Funeral services for Menno Folkerts, 71, of Thompson were held Saturday, November 26, 1994 at 10;30 a.m. at United Methodist Church in Thompson with Rev. Ted Stowers officiating. Interment was in Olena Mound Cemetery at Buffalo Centerwith Whiter Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Music was provided by Eleanor Roper as organist with Tom and Becky Thompson singing "On Eagle's Wings" and "In the Garden". The congregation sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Rock of Ages". Casketbearers were Dan Amevik. Brad Amcvik.Kevin Thompson, Lyle Passmore, Allen Olson and John Mathahs. Honorary Casketbearers were Gene and Jerry Horswell. Dave and Ruth Bolie, Don and Marvene Boyer, Evelyn Tordoff and Carol Mathahs.

Menno Folkerts, son of Ole and Grace (Meinders) Folkerts, was bom October 28, 1923 southwest of Buffalo Center. He was baptized at Ramsey Reformed Church, rural Titonka, and received catechism at First Reformed Church in Buffalo Center.He was a long-tune member of United Methodist Church, Thompson.

On January 15, 1946 he married Everdena Meyering at Ramsey Reformed parsonage. Most of their married life was spent in the Thompson area. Menno farmed and had a lawn mower repair shop for approximately 15 years. The love for his familywas a very important pan of his life.

Menno died Tuesday evening, November 22, 1994 at his home.

Surviving Menno are his wife, Everdena; six children: Donna Passmore of North Mankato, Minnesota; Gary and his"

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Aleta Folkerts."
