Mrs. Floyd Gardner, 39, died suddenly at 7 a.m. this morning at her home, 304 West Main st., West Lafayette, following 15 years' illness.

Madelyn West, was born Jan. 24, 1919, at West Lafayette, a daughter of Guy and Ethel Eckelberry West. Dec. 24, 1935, she was married to Floyd Gardner, who survives.

Also surviving are her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Guy West, Coshocton Route 3; one son, Harold Raymond of the home; one daughter, Mrs. Robert Spear, Coshocton Route 4; two brothers, Guy West, Jr., Coshocton, and Rodney West, Coshocton Route 5;two sisters, Mrs. Walter Machwart, Keene, and Mrs. Joe Cole, Newcomerstown Route 2, and one grandchild. One daughter is deceased. ..." <>

NEWCOMERSTOWN: Marilyn A. Speer, 75, of Newcomerstown died Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at her residence. She was born February 6, 1939 in Coshocton County to the late Floyd and Madeline (West) Gardner. She was a 1957 West Lafayette High School graduate. She retired from General Electric of Newcomerstown in 1999 after 28 years of service. She is survived by four children, Glenn Speer (Debbie Lehman) of Newcomerstown, Vicki Speer of Newcomerstown, Danny (Payao) Speer of TX, and Eddie (Mary Lou) Speer of NC; one grandchild, Aaron Newns; one brother, Raymond (Joan) Gardner ofMA; three close friends, Rosalie Malloy, Faye Bryant, and Carol Bice. She was preceded in death by one sister, Barbara Gardner. Graveside services will be Saturday, September 6, 2014 at 11:00 AM at West Lawn Cemetery, Newcomerstown with Rev. Garry Marlatt officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Tusc. County 716 Commercial Avenue SW,New Philadelphia, OH 44663.
