"Funeral Service Held March 6 for Mrs. R. E. Aukes

Funeral services for Mrs. Rataard (Anna) Aukes, 74, of Buffalo Center, were held Wednesday mottling, Mawh 6, at 10:30 a.m, at t h e Congregational Church in Buffalo Center with Rev. Jay Warren officiating. Winter Funeral Service was incharge of arrangements and interment was in Graceland cemetery.

Pallbearers were her sons, Donald Aukes, Raymond Aukes, Menle Aukes, Robert Aukes, Ervtin Aukes, Rollin Aukes and Loren Aukes.

Kiathy Heyer was the organist and singers were Mrs. Jim Shorterihaus and Mrs. Jay Wawen.

Anna Aukes, daughter of Gustav Onken and Marie Albers, was born at Westenstede, Germany, on February 14, 1900. On March 17, 1920 she was united in marriage to Retard Aukes at Lake Lillian, Minnesota. In 1915 she was confirmed at St.John's Lutheiran Church, Woden, Iowa. She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Buffalo Center.

She passed away at the Buffalo Center Hospital on March 6, 1974, having attained the age of 74 years and 20 days. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gustav and Marie Onken; one daughter, Lily; and one infant sister.

Mrs. Aukes is survived by her husband, Reinaird; by seven sons: Donald of Conway, Arkansas; Robert of Jacksonville, Arkansas; Ervin of Morrilton, Arkansas; Merle of Lake Mills, Iowa; Rollin of Kiester, Minnesota; Raymond and Loren ofBuffalo Center; and four daughters: Mrs. Leonard (Maxine) Harms of Crystal Lake, Iowa; Mrs. Donald (Mildred) Dontje of Forest City, Iowa; Mrs. Jim (Ruby) Hofbauer of Buffalo Center; and Mrs. Mohammad (Mary) Khowassah of Iowa City, Iowa.Her surviving brothers and sisters 'are Gus Onken of Ellendale, North Dakota; Fred Onken of Frederick, South Dakota; Mrs. Martha Voortmann of Buffalo Center, Iowa; and Mrs. Emma Banse of Caledonia, Minn. She is also survived by 41grandchildren and 13 great grand-children, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends." <>
