Mrs. Clifford Phillabaum, 43, Shanesville, died Wednesday afternoon following an illness of two years while enroute to a hospital.

Erdine Marie Balder was born July 31, 1921 in Walnut Creek to Harry and Sarah Hostetler Balder. She was a member of the Walnut Creek Mennonite Church.

Surviving are the husband; a son, Clifford T. of the home; four daughters, Mrs. David Renner of Baltic, Brenda Kay, Joyce Elaine and Wanda Marie, all of the home; a brother, Dale Balder of Shanesville, two sisters, Mrs. Paul Olinger ofDenver and Mrs. Loyal Shrock of Sugarcreek, and two grandchildren. One son id deceased.

Services will be conducted Saturday at 1:30 at the Everhart-Butler funeral home in Shanesville and at the Walnut Creek Mennonite Church at 2 p.m. by Rev. Paul R. Miller and Eldon King. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends maycall at the funeral home tonight from 7 to 9 and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

He was a 1957 graduate of Norwayne High School and had worked for Andy Bauder Electric in Rittman for 25 years, then for the Rohrer Corp. in Wadsworth for the past 23 years. He was a member of Oak Grove Mennonite Church and had made his home on Steiner Road near Creston all of his life. He was an avid hunter having hunted in Africa and South America and enjoyed fishing on Lake Erie and in Canada. He was amaster of many trades and could figure out just about any problem.
