He was a member of Oak Grove Mennonite Church and had made his home on Steiner Road near Creston all of his life. He was an avid hunter having hunted in Africa and South America and enjoyed fishing on Lake Erie and in Canada. He was amaster of many trades and could figure out just about any problem.
