Note: Stanley Ackerman, 59, of Melvin, died Tuesday, May 1, 2001 at Osceola Community Hospital, Sibley, IA. Born December 30, 1941 near Little Rock, IA he was the son of Harvey and Fannie (Becker) Ackerman. He married Karen Jurgenson September26, 1959 in Harris, IA.

He grew up and received his education near various MN communities where his family farmed. He held various jobs, including supervising a feedlot for Spencer Packing, Co., in Harris and driving truck and farming near Bigelow. In 1982 theymoved to Bakersfield, CA where was employed as a maintenance worker at A & B Oil Field. In 1992 they moved to Melvin and he was employed as the coty's maintenance person.

Surviving are his wife; 3 sons Todd (Sue) Ackerman, Ashton, IA; Troy (Jackie) Ackerman Sheldon, IA and Stan (Aggie) Ackerman, Sanborn, IA; 2 daughters Becky (David) Heitritter and Brenda (Barry) Camman both of Melvin; 4 brothers Gary andPaul Ackerman of Bakersfield, CA Dennis (Kay) Ackerman and Gaylan (Linda) Ackerman all of Sioux Falls; 2 sisters Roslie (Everett Morrow) Holst, Okoboji, IA and Janet (Marvin) Timmons, Kirkhoven, MN; 11 grandchildren and 1 greatgrandchildren.
