Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Wednesday at the Free methodist Church for william Akkerman, 69, who died Saturday in a Sioux Falls hospital. Mr. Akkerman was born July 10, 1899 in Ocheydan, IA. he came to Sioux Falls in 1907, moving to Tea in 1912, and finally to Humboldt in 1915. He was a retired farmer.

Survivors include the widow Margaret Evans, whom he married June 17, 1956 in Pipestone, MN. 2 sons, Glenn of Sioux Falls, and Randy of Humboldt. 3 daughters Carolyn of Winona Lake, IL, Mrs. Frank Watsick of Brooklyn Center, MN and Kathyof Humboldt. 6 grandchildren , 3 brothers George of Los Osos, CA, herman (Harry) of Willow Lake and Mike of Sioux Falls. 3 sisters Mrs. Minnie Bates of Ocheydan, mrs Anna Gerken of Tea and Mrs Jennie Hilton of Sioux Falls.
