BUFFALO CENTER: Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 8 for Selma Aukes, 97. Mrs. Aukes died Wednesday, Sept. 3 at Timely Mission Home, Buffalo Center.

Rev. Larry TenHaken officiated at the services in Ramsey Reformed Church, with burial in the church cemetery. Winter Funeral Home of Buffalo Center was in charge of arrangements.

Selma was born March 22, 1889 in Omaha, NB to August and Elska (Akkerman) Daniel.

She married Edze Aukes on June 22, 1919 on her family farm home and she and her husband farmed south of Buffalo Center for 38 years. They moved into Buffalo Center in 1948.

She had lived at Timely Mission Nursing Home in Buffalo Center for the past 11 years.

Mrs. Aukes is survived by three sons, Ben and Walter Aukes, both of Woden and Marvin Aukes of Minneapolis; tow daughters, Mrs. Clarence (Gladys) Heitland of Buffalo Center and Mrs. Herb (Clara) Klasse of Titonka; a step-son, Reinder Aukesof Buffalo Center; 31 grandchildren; 98 great- grandchildren and 54 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother, a stepdaughter and a stepson."
