BUFFALO CENTER: Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 8 for Selma Aukes, 97. Mrs. Aukes died Wednesday, Sept. 3 at Timely Mission Home, Buffalo Center.

Rev. Larry TenHaken officiated at the services in Ramsey Reformed Church, with burial in the church cemetery. Winter Funeral Home of Buffalo Center was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. ELSKE DANIEL PASSED AWAY SEPT. 24th

After a short illness of heart trouble of 24 hours, Mrs. Elske Daniel nee Akkerman died at the home of her son at Belmond Friday, Sept. 24th, 1926. She was born Sept. 18, 1849 in Ostfriesland Germany, and came to this country in 1885.She was united in marriage to August Daniel in 1888. They lived at Florence, Nebraska, where they wre blessed with two children, Bennjamin [sic] Daniel of Belmond, Iowa, and Mrs. E. B. Aukes of Woden, Iowa. She also leaves one sister,Mrs. Dick Meinders of Buffalo Center to mourn her death, besides 9 grandchildren and many other relatives and a host of friends. Mr. Daniel passed away in 1894 at Florence, Nebraska. For the last 21 years she has lived around here andat Belmond, Iowa. She was 77 years and 9 days of age at the time of her death. The remains were laid to rest at Ramsey cemetery north of German Valley. The Rev. J. H. Schoon officiated. - Buffalo Center Tribune." ..." <>
