Woden: Funeral services were held Saturday, December 8 at 1:30 p.m. at the First Lutheran Church in Britt with Pastor Gerald Melby officiating for Henry Stohr, 78, former Woden area farmer, after he passed away in his home in BrittThursday evening, December 6.

Interment was in the Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery, rural Titonka.

Casket bearers were Raymond Bruns, Gerald Redenius, Marvin Hillenga, Kermit Redenius, Elwin Redenius and Arthur Senne. Honorary casket bearers were Galen Kruse, Rick Stohr, Gregory Kruse andScott Gjerde.

Ushers were Duane Hanson and Don Ross. Music was provided by Mrs. Eugene Swanson, organist, congregational hymns and soloist Daryl Richeson who sang, 'Amazing Grace'.

Henry Stohr was born August 27, 1901, the son of Eggo and Etta (Eden) Stohr, at Woden. He was baptized and confirmed in the Immanuel Lutheran Church near Titonka and received his education in the Grant No. 9 school, rural Woden.

On June 3, 1930 he was united in marriage with Gertie Bruns and the couple farmed near Woden for 37 years before retiring and moving into Britt, 12 years ago. Since that time they have attended the First Lutheran Church in Britt.

Henry is survived by his wife Gertie of Britt; two daughters Arlene Kruse and her husband Raymond of Okabena, Minn.; and Verla Bartelt and her husband Lloyd of Woden; three sons, Vernon Stohr and his wife Marie of Woden; Edgar Stohr andhis wife Marilyn of Elmwood, Wisc. and Beuford Stohr and his wife of Rosalind of Woden; 13 grandchildren; 4 sisters, Mrs. Etta Bruns of Britt, Mrs. Caroline Senne of Northwood, Mrs. Lydia Hillenga of Woden and Mrs. Menno (Lora) Redeniusof Britt, many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter in infancy, an infant brother and a sister, Mrs. Harm (Gertrude) Kurtzleben." <>
