Marilyn K Roche, 67, of Frankfort, Kan., died Thursday, December 21, 2017 at the Community HealthCare System in Onaga, Kan.

Visitation will be Wednesday, December 27, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Padden Funeral Chapel in Frankfort. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 28 at the United Methodist Church in Frankfort.

The pallbearers will be Matt Slifer, Adam Slifer, Royden Slifer, Dylan Slifer, Joshua Massie, and Aaron Massie.

The honorary pallbearers will be Jonathan Carson, Caleb Jaren, Joshua Jaren, Jessie Jaren, Kyle Engelson, Kurt Engelson, and George Slifer,

Burial will be in Frankfort Cemetery.

Marilyn was born January 7, 1950 at Buffalo Center, Iowa, to Marvin "Bud" and Lois (Gray) Behrends. When Marilyn was four, the family moved to Olympia, Wash.

Marilyn married Verlin Slifer in 1971 and Marilyn, Verlin, and Todd moved to Vliets, Kan., where Matt and Adam were born. They later divorced.

On October 1, 1988, she married Bill Roche. They later divorced.

Marilyn worked for Brown Shoe Store as a sales associate and then J.C. Penney's. She worked at Peckham's Pharmacy and the Blue Rapids Nutrition site. She enjoyed music, shopping and being with her family. Marilyn was a member of the Harmony Guild in Vliets.

She was preceded in death by her son, Todd Slifer in 1990; and later her father, Bud.

Survivors include her significant other, Bill Roche, Frankfort; mother, Lois Behrends, Titonka, Iowa; sons, Matt (Shelley) Slifer, Springfield, Mo., Adam (Sarah) Slifer, Vermillion, Kan.; three sisters, Gloria Carson, Dana Point, Calif., Marcia Jaren, Bancroft, Iowa, Paula Engelson, Everest, Wash.; and six grandchildren, Madison, Bailey, Royden, Dylan, Alayna and George.

A memorial fund is established and will be designated later. Contributions may be sent in care of Padden Funeral Chapel.
