Funeral services for Hazel Patricia "Pat" Albers will be held on Friday, February 28, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with Father Craig Steimel officiating. Visitation is 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 27at,Whiter Funeral Home, and one hous before the service at the church. A prayer service for Pat will take place on Thursday, February 27, at 6:30 p.m. Interment' is at Graceland Cemetery with Winter Funeral Home in charge ofarrangements.

Serving as pallbearers are: Victor Garry, Paul Adams. Charles Kennedy, Robert Kennedy, John Kennedy, and Tun Weaver. Hazel Patricia "Pat" passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 1997 at Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City.Dona Yegge is the organist and Rochelle Wickwire is the vocalist. Hazel Patricia "Pat" Albers, daughter of Joe and Mabel (Pennell) Higgins, was born November 14, 1926, at Armstrong. She moved to Burt in 1938 and graduated from Burt HighSchool in 1944. Her mother died 18 days before she graduated. She married Edwin Albers on August 1, 1946, at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in West Bend. Two children blessed the union, Linda and Mike.

"Secretary, and Treasurer. She was a charter member of the VFW Auxiliary which started hi June, 1950. She served as Auxiliary (President, District President, and in 1964, she served as State President. She was also a Girl Scout leaderfor two years and a Den Mother for one year.

Survivors include her husband, Edwin Albers, in the Veterans Home in Marshalltown; one daughter, Linda Steinberg, St. Ansgar; one son, Mike Albers and his wife, Linda, Apex, North Carolina; four granddaughters: Brenda Larsen of MasonCity; Tricia Garry and her husband, Victor, of Mason City Diane Adams and her husband, Paul, of Buffalo Center; Mindy Steinberg of St. Ansgar; four great-grandsons, Jake and Tanner Larsen, both of Mason City; Dylan and Dalton Adams, bothof Buffalo Center; three sisters: Virl Hammerstrom, of Orlando, Florida; Jolene Lieb and her husband, Neil, of Cipperopoles, California; Alice Kennedy and her husband, Bill, of Bancroft; her mother-in-law, Elizabeth Albers, of BuffaloCenter; two half-sisters, Carol Miller of West Bend; Jane Johnson of Creston; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Thomas; and one sister, Janet Sue." <>
