Mrs. Edwin Albers received the distressing news that her father, Joe Higgins, had passed away early Tuesday morning and left that same evening to be with her mother and family. Joe came here when but a small lad with his father, the late Pat Higgins, and grew up in this vicinity. From here he went into the United States Army in 1918 and served in France as a member of the first A. E. F. He was a member of theAmerican Legion Post here for the first three years after it was organized but following his marriage moved from this vicinity.
