Hi, Was very surprised to get your E mail. Yes Jan Winter was my grandfather. He died when I was 2 yr old so don't remember him but remember grandma Grace Meyer very well. She never spoke a word of english All low german. Was marriedthe first time an d lost Lois to breast cancer after 26 yr then married Betty who I lost in 2011 after 30 yr. My genealogy got neglected after that. My brother Philip and his wife went to Germany and found some blood relatives in theold home town. Have pictures of the area. Also the house where grandpa Jan was born. Would love to share gedcoms. There is a shareable CD that should open by putting it in the drive If not, open the directory and find rmexe click on that and it should open. the picture on the titlepage is the house where grandpa Jan Winter was born. My brother Phil and wife Thelma were there and took pictures. See German pic CD. other pictures are taken by them or sent to them later. Reno and Etta (Winter) Lubben are bloodrelatives . If you click on data button my whole data base is available. click on search button and Type a W and all the Winters will come up scroll down to find the one you want. select and the data will come up. if a small pic shows upclick photos at the top of the page select personal and then it can be enlarged etc. Was done by Roots Magic ver 3.0.4 And Windows XP 2002 professional . The other CD is a gedcom of my entire data base should go right in your genealogyprogram. Done as a hobby only and not legally checked for accuracy. Please send corrections and will fix it. Paul Winter

"Paul Winter, 81 of Buffalo Center died Tuesday, December 8 at Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City. His cremated remains will be buried at the Graceland cemetery in Buffalo Center with a private service at a later date.

Paul was born on June 29, 1934 to Folkert and Hannah (Frey) Winter at Buffalo Center where he lived his entire life farming and doing construction work. Paul married Lois Miller in 1954 and to this union three children were born. Loispassed away in 1980.

In 1981 Paul married Betty (Martin) Rahbusch. She passed away in 2011. Paul was blessed with several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Paul is survived by his daughter; Julia Williams and her children, Steven, Kristy, Jennifer and Nicky. His oldest son, Tim and his wife Karen, their children Matthew, Ryan and Alex. His youngest son, Alan and his wife Pam and theirchildren Jesse and Brady. He is also survived by his brother, Phil and his wife Thelma and their children Dawn, Gail and Lynn; stepchildren Barb Wren, Deb Welte and Amy (Mike) Johnson; and step grandchildren: Greg, Ashley, Jamie, Kate,Elizabeth, Sydney and Jacob.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his two wives; two stepchildren, Peter and Sharon; and a grandson Mike Wenck.
