Hattie Te Grotenhuis, 101, of Sioux Center died Monday, October 8, at the Royale Meadows Care Center of Sioux Center. Valley with the Rev. Mark Heijerman officiating, Interment was in Hope Cemetery of Hull. She attended country school and continued at Hull Christian School. To further her sewing skills she attended sewing school when she was 16 years old. , 1928. nter. To support her family, she helped manage the farm and cooked at the Central Cafe and Dordt College. She also did laundry work at the Sioux Center Community Hospital and cleaned dorm rooms at Dordt College. She retired in her 70s. ant to her and she enjoyed the many visits she would receive from her family and church friends. She lived independendy until she was 97 years old. s and Les and his wife Joan Te Grotenhuis, all of Sioux Center, and Marv and his wife Wanda Te Grotenhuis of Louisville, Colorado; son-in-law, Jerry Van't Hul and his wife Linda of Sheldon; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; seven greatgreat-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. r sisters, Delia Krommendyk, Bertha Van Surksum, Jeannette Van Beek and Gertrude Moss; and three brothers, Peter, John and Otto Bouma, The Te Grotenhuis family prefers memorials to be directed to the Carmel Reformed Church New Horizon Fund.
