Question/answer » What is the web address of my family archive and can I choose it?

Every family archive has its own web address. The address consists of the name of the website and a number. For example: www.familiearchivaris.nl/983. Your archive gets the number automatically when it is created. You cannot choose or change it yourself.

Where do I find the address?

After creating the archive you receive the address by e-mail. You also see it in the address bar of your browser when you open your archive. And your archive is listed in the overview of all family archives.

What can I do with the address?

• Send it to family members. On the page they can log in or make an access request.
• Put it on your own website or in your e-mail signature.
• Put it in your publication on Genealogy Online, for example in the description.

Anyone who opens the address without logging in only sees the name of the archive, the description and your name as archivist. The photos and stories stay private.
