1. In the 1861 Census at Alloa, Janet is living with the Rutherford family, as a visitor. The head of the family is Elizabeth Rutherford, Sailors wife, with 4 young children below 6 years of age. Her husband is not in the house. Perhaps he was away at sea with Mungo Syme, Janet's Grandfather?
2. Janet was married twice, first marriage Robert Henderson, Private, 7th Regiment, second marriage John Rispin, Corkcutter Journeyman. There is no record of marriage to David Duncan, who is named as the Father of Mary Ann Duncan, when she marrys John Campbell, in 1884. Janet Harrower or Rispin is named as her Mother.
