Notes about Mungo Syme

1. There is a register of Birth and a register of Baptism for Mungo Syme, both Tillicoultry, OPR births 468/0010 0290, and OPR births 468/0010 0240.

2. It cannot be confirmed that Mungo Sim, in 1841 Census, at King William Dock, Dundee, is my Mungo Syme, as there is a Mungo Syme, (see media 1861 census Vessels) who is also a seaman, born around 1798, also in Alloa, Clackmannan, who appears in the 1861 Census, on board the ship, Prince Regent, berthed in Helensburgh.
Has this census been taken early? See Below! (3)

3. I can now (27.11.12) confirm the identity of the Mungo Syme and his family in the 1861 census, in Old Bridge, Alloa, where Mungo is living with his new wife, Ann Mcnair, and her son, Walter Taylor, from previous marriage to John Taylor, on 03 Jun 1843. Walter was born 10 June 1845. There is also a daughter in the house, Helen Taylor, aged 14, b Alloa, but no record of her birth can be found on LDS. Further search in LDS also found a James Taylor, b Alloa, 15 Oct 1843, to the same parents.
