Notes about Isabella Mercer

1. 1851 Census Isabella living with Grandmother Isabell Burgess. In 1871 Census same

2. Birth Certificate states, "Andrew Mercer, Collier and Agnes Dunsyre had a daughter born in fornication on the 5th of April 1845 and baptised by the Rev Mr Ross, Kennoway, named Isobella Mercer." (http://www.mercermillions.info/mercers_of_Fife/isobella_mercer_1845.htm)

3. Sent to Scotlands People 27.11.2019, Andrew Mercer, record of birth 20/08/1830 (434/ 40 191 Kennoway) refers to his brother, William Mercer, b. 20/08/1830. The record firstly records Andrew’s birth, but the name Andrew is scored out, and replaced with William. William’s brother, Andrew Mercer, was born 9/04/1824 and is recorded at 434/0040 0012 Kennoway. Incidentally, on the same page there is a birth record of Alexander, b. 1/04/1827, Andrew and William’s brother.
The funny thing is, in the next record on 434/ 40 191 Kennoway, the above Andrew Mercer’s (b. 1824) daughter, Isabella, her birth, recorded as 05/04/1845, the Andrew Mercer to which the original record refers to!!!!
Weird stuff indeed.
