Ann Simons, the fifth child God gave Benjamin Simons and Mary Esther DuPre, was born on Tuesday, 21st of April at six o'clock in the evening in the house at Middleburg Plantation. She was baptized by Mr. Prioleau, Minister. Mr. James DuPre, Jr. (representing James DuPre who was in Europe) was Godfather and Mary Esther DuPre Simons, her mother, Godmother. Ann Simons married 1st. John Royer an d 2nd. Stephen Proctor. From her the Proctor of S. Ward in South Carolina and the Proctor of Georgia are descended.
