    Woutman, Cornelis

    Geboren op 13 februari 1857 te Hoogblokland als zoon van Martinus Hendrik Woutman (Amsterdam 25 juli 1818-Opmeer oktober 1907), van 1850-1886 hoofd der openbare lagere school te Hoogblokland, en Cornelia Geertruida Andriessen (Charlois 23 september 1823). Hij huwde op 31 januari 1884 in Arkel met Johanna Elisabeth Scheltema (Gouda 18 januari 1860-Haastrecht 17 mei 1932), met wie hij een dochter en een zoon kreeg. Woutman studeerde theologie te Leiden en werd na examen in september 1882 toegelaten tot de evangelie-bediening door het provinciale kerkbestuur van Zeeland. Hij was predikant in Arkel (1885), Berkhout (vanaf 1 september 1885 tot 1889), Boskoop (1889 tot 1894), Aartswoud (1894), Enschede (1895), Breda (in elk geval vanaf 1913 tot 1916) en vanaf 20 mei 1916 dominee te Oisterwijk, waar hij P.A. Riedel opvolgde. In 1916 was hij in zijn functie van predikant tevens voorzitter van de Oisterwijkse Schoolvereeniging en secretaris van het Nutdepartement. Hij vertrok op 6 juni 1920 als predikant naar Hilvarenbeek en werd in Oisterwijk opgevolgd door C. Kunst. Hij was tijdens zijn predikantschap in Hilvarenbeek praetor van de ring Oisterwijk. Tot 1923 bleef hij predikant in Hilvarenbeek. Cornelis Woutman overleed te Hilversum in mei/juni 1925. Zijn zoon Martinus Hendrik (Berkhout 19 maart 1887) werd president van de factorij der Nederlandse Handelsmaatschappij te Batavia.
