Hermanis van Doorn en Margarieta Laurensen zijn rond 1635 geboren, onbekend is waar. 4 juni 1659 lieten zij in Dordrecht hun dochter Margarieta dopen. Daarna zijn ze naar Den Bosch vertrokken, en lieten daar 4 kinderen dopen: Dirck in 1661, Maria in 1663, Johannes in 1665 en nogmaals Johannes in 1668, doopgetuigen in Den Bosch waren Dirck van Dooren, Catharina Laurant, Maria Lurant, Peter van Es en Belia van Doorn. Dirck van Dooren is waarschijnlijk de vader van Hermanis. Catharina Laurant en Maria Lurant zijn waarschijnlijk zussen van Margarieta Laurensen. Het spoor naar deze voorouders begint dus in 1659 in Dordrecht en wordt vervolgd in Den Bosch. De familie Van Doorn keerde weer terug naar Dordrecht, want zoon Johannes trouwde in 1693 met Catrijna Meesters, Johannes werd daarbij geassisteert met zijn moeder: Margarieta Laurensen.
