Van 10 januari 1894 tot 17 januari 1895 staat hij ingeschreven te Amsterdam op het adres ·ÄúNK Leliegracht 27 Rgz 267/215 van Neck.·Äù, komende van - en vertrekkende naar Enschede.

In 1903 staat de Fa. Van Heek en Co. eenzaam aan de top met 1805 werknemers. Nico ter Kuile op de tweede plek telt dan 810 werknemers.

·ÄúEnige jaren daarvoor om precies te zijn sinds augustus 1928 bevond zich, te zijner ontwikkeling, een telg uit een vooraanstaand Enschedees textielgeslacht, L. van Heek jr., op een wereldreis. L. van Heek jr. deed op die wereldreis o.a. Japan en China aan om zich op de hoogte te stellen van de afzetmarkten aldaar. In een brochurte van maart 1929, ingeleid en van een slotwoord voorzien door zijn vader L. van Heek sr. gaf deze laatste een greep uit de informatie, die hij van zijn zoon ontving.·Äù

Ludwig wordt uit de directie van Van Heek & co gezet ·Äúvanwege zijn handel en wandel·Äù, waarop hij zijn eigen firma L. van Heek & Zn. NV begint.
