A warm welcome,
The former written publication by Jeannet Pasterkamp-Boerkoel served for this digital family tree. This written family tree of Jeannet Pasterkamp-Boerkoel was published in 1989 after years of research and hours of work. This richly documented publication was entitled "Wat Ons Boerkoels Samenbindt" (trsl. What Binds Our Boerkoels Together "). The family tree therein only reflects the Dutch situation since the arrival of Johan Burkuhl from Germany around 1750.
Now almost 30 years later after this written publication, the possibilities of digitalization have opened the way to many more possibilities:
and so on. In this way I hope to do even more justice to the title "What Binds Our Boerkoels Together". With this I also try to give Jeannet's beautiful work a further boost! The family tree has now grown considerably. The Dutch branch of the family tree has been updated and expanded. And a completely new American branch has been added. Research is still being conducted to further develop the German branch. Much research has been done into a possible old family coat of arms, but this turned out not to be there. A new family coat of arms was subsequently designed. I would like to hope that many other families will eventually be able to make (many) contributions in the near future, so that it will increasingly become a family tree "of and by all of us". I hope we can all enjoy it again. Thank you in advance and have fun,
Ronald Jan Boerkoel
