Ruth was a homemaker and accomplished seamstress working out of her home in Mt. Shasta. She faithfully served her Lord by teaching Sunday School at Hope Community Church in Mt. Shasta for over 50 years where she was honored with the Distinguished Service Award in 2007.
After her husband, Doug, retired from his barber shop on North Mt. Shasta Blvd, they moved to Newman, CA to live across the street from their daughter and son-in-law for 4 years. After Doug's passing, Ruth returned to Redding in 2011 to live with her daughter, Karen, and son-in-law. Due to the need for 24 hour care, Ruth moved into Sharon's Care Home in Redding in late January of 2015.

Ruth's life can best be described as never saying a bad word about anyone and always filling the gap when someone needed her help.
She is survived by 2 children: Dale Gilliam (Kerri) of Mt. Shasta and Karen Fauss (Rick) of Redding. She is also survived by 1 sibling, Millie Hand of Mt. Shasta, and was preceded in death by her brother, Lawrence Wisner. Ruth had 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
