Julia "Judy" L. Howard died Monday, Nov. 14, 2005 at Sutter Amador Hospital in Jackson at the age of 92 years.

She was born July 2, 1913 to Benjamin and Magdalina (Gall) Hawver in San Andreas. Judy married Walter Howard on May 14, 1932 at the Community Church in San Andreas. She worked 13 years as a cook for the Amador County Unified School District. She cooked for the Pipi Bible Camp and taught Sunday school and vacation Bible school for West Point Community Covenant Church.

She fondly loved her great-grandchildren, Bo, Britta and Brennan Howard and Ziggy, Anastacia, Sophia and Peter Reinhardt. Judy enjoyed "heaven on earth" fishing with her family at Caples Lake and Woods Lake. She made Amador County her home for 64 years.

She is survived by her sons, Wesley Howard of Linden, Evan Howard of San Francisco; sister, Reatha Amaral of Jackson; brother, Monroe "Bud" Hawver of Placerville; grandson, Gregory Howard of Pioneer; granddaughter, Diana Reinhardt of Ann Arbor, Michigan; and 7 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Walter Howard, on Nov. 28, 1988; sisters, Beatrice Wisner, Ruth Ludwig, Eleanor "Bobby" Williams; and brother, Gustav "Gus" Hawver.

Friends are invited to attend a funeral service Saturday, Nov. 19 at 11 a.m. at Pioneer Baptist Church in Pioneer. Interment will be in the West Point Cemetery in West Point. Memorial contributions may be made to West Point Community Covenant Church, P.O. Box 87, West Point, CA 95255, Pioneer Baptist Church building fund, 21895 Homestead Road, Pioneer, CA 95666, or Gideon's International, P.O. Box 632, Jackson, CA 95642.
