Wesley Howard
March 3, 1938 September 22, 2009

Wes Howard, age 71 of Linden, CA, went to be with God on September 22nd after a long battle with cancer. He passed away surrounded by his loving family at St. Josephs Medical Center in Stockton. The family thanks the medical staff for the dedication and care that they bestowed on him.

He was born March 3, 1938 to parents Walter and Julia Howard and had one brother Evan Howard of San Francisco. He was a member of the Covenant Church all his life. He attended Pioneer Elementary School in Pioneer, CA, Amador High School in Sutter Creek, CA, and graduated with a engineering degree from Cal Poly in Pomona, CA.

After graduating, he was employed by Aerojet General in Azusa and Folsom, then St. Josephs Medical Center in Stockton. During this time he was a member of California Society of Hospital Engineers. Upon his retirement, it was with great joy that he served as project director for the Church of Presentation. He was proud to be a friend and co-worker with Father Larry McGovern. He also developed his hobby of fly fishing by joining Delta Fly Fishers and learning how to fly ties.

Wes is survived by his wife, Violetta, of 50 years; his son, Greg Howard and his wife Heida; his daughter, Diana Reinhardt and her husband Steve; and seven grandchildren, Bo, Britta, and Brennan Howard, and Markus, Anastasia, Sophia, and Peter Reinhardt. He dearly loved his family and prayed for them daily. He was close to the Andrew Solari family having known them for 30 years and being a part of their life.

A memorial service will be held October 17, 2009, 2:00 p.m. at Good Samaritan Community Covenant Church, 4684 Baldwin Street, Valley Springs, CA 95252.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a charity of choice.
