Thursday, 24 Mar 1892
There was some commotion in Hollister last week over the alleged abduction of Isabella KEITH by her aunt, Mrs. PULLEN, of Peach Tree. Mrs. PULLEN had reared the girl, but her mother who lives at Panoche had an application pending for her custody. While the proceedings were in progress Judge BREEN issued an order placing the girl in the convent for 1 month. At the end of the month, he awarded the custody to the mother, but before the order was executed the girl slipped out of the convent, went to Sargents and returned to King City with her aunt. The sheriff excuses himself on the ground the girl was not in his charge under the proceedings. The girl wishes to remain with her aunt.

Thursday, 28 Apr 1892
Hollister Free Lance, 22nd: Mrs. Ezra PULLEN appeared before the superior court Monday and produced Isabella KEITH, in response to a writ of habeas corpus issued out of the supreme court. Judge BREEN ordered the child to be returned to the Sisters of Charity and turned over to her mother, Mrs. W.E. KEITH of Panoche. The sheriff was charged with the execution of the order. The contempt proceedings against Mrs. PULLEN will come up for hearing today. It is very probable that they will be dismissed, however, as Mrs. KEITH is indisposed to push the matter.

Thursday, 5 May 1892
Mrs. Ezra PULLEN of Peach Tree, who was recently before the court at Hollister for contempt in regard to the custody of a niece who was claimed by her mother, has secured possession of the child. Mrs. PULLEN purged herself of contempt by delivering the child to the court, which turned it over to the mother, but the child absolutely refused to have anything to do with its mother and ran away at every opportunity. She was finally allowed to go to her aunt, who has reared her from childhood.
