Gerrit M. Zwart
March 11, 1931 - June 25, 2017 Born to Madeline and Bernardus Zwart in Stamford, CT. Mr. Zwart was predeceased by both parents and his loving wife Marjorie J. Zwart and his brothers Bernardus Zwart Jr. and Murray "Tiny" Zwart. Survived by daughter Penelope E. Zwart of West Haven, CT. Granddaughter Crystal A. Zwart of Sarasota, FL. Grandson Nicholas G. Ansaldi of Torrington, CT. Several nieces, nephews and friends who called him POP. Mr. Zwart was retired US NAVY sailing on the USS Pocono. Mr. Zwart was involved with Pups Without Partners Greyhound adoption program caring for retired racers until their forever homes could be found. He will be greatly missed by all his canine companions, as well as the countless people's lives he touched .
The "Flying Dutchman has flown his final flight". God speed Pop, we will take it from here.
