BIOGRAPHY: Reuben Pridmore emigrated to Port Adelaide, South Australia, on the
ship "Mariner" in 1846. He was followed by his parents and the younger
children (William, Peter and Elizabeth) to Port Adelaide in May 1849 on Barque
"Susannah". Reuben worked in Adelaide as a butcher and a stonemason for a
time, then went to Victoria and engaged in gold-mining at Mount Alexander,
Bendigo and Daylesford. But, going to Kotupna in Northern Victoria, he
selected 160 acres 1 rood and 24 perches of land, and commenced farming -
which he continued until his death in January 1908. He was "Found dead in the
paddock; supposed cause, Heat Apoplexy". His wife, Ann, had pre-deceased him
