BIOGRAPHY: Daylesford in early days was one of many Digger's camps, and was
known as "Jim Crow Diggings". Ellen Pridmore was taken from Adelaide in early
childhood, lived on Campbell's Creek, then in 1855 went to Jim Crow Creek. On
2 Feb. 1942, at 42 Gourlay St. East St. Kilda, I (Niel T. Hansen) was shown by
Annie Beatrice Mary Mossop an old Bible containing Mossop entries, blankets
and quilts of ancient vintage, and old hand-worked wooden tables and frames.
Also, I was shown "Reuben's Box" which he gave to his first-born daughter
Ellen Pridmore when she was three years old. Ellen Pridmore, I was informed,
always had an affection for Noah Turner (husband of Elizabeth Pridmore,
daughter of Samuel Pridmore). Ellen Pridmore died at 42 Gourlay St. from
"Colitis, asthenia and senility".
Temple work may have been done twice for Ellen. Felicity has entered: 6 Feb
1954 baptism; 26 Feb 1954 endowment; 12 Nov 1955 seal to parents (no temple
recorded).
