Isaac Adler, 73 years old, died last night at 9:30 o'clock from sudden heart affliction at the home of his daughter Mrs. L. Rubinstein, 928 East Couch street. Mrr Adler had been a resident of Portland, Multnomah, Oregon, USA for 24 years, having come here from Odessa, Odesskaya Oblast', Ukraine. Two sons, Joseph Adler, of Portland, Multnomah, Oregon, USA, and H.I. Adler, of Seattle, and two daughters Mrs. S. Chaimov, 606 Fifth street, Portland, and Mrs. Rubinstein survive. The funeral probably will be held today from the residence of Mrs Chaimov, to which the body will be removed early today.
Why did Anna Royzner conclude that Adler came from the small Raygorod and not the big one, pleasess
I thought about it. The small one is located in about 300 km from Balta. Besides, earlier they were in the same region. ( If you remember Dina told us that Balta was in Podolia region). The second Raygorod is rather far, and it is quie different area. It wouldl be easier to come to Odessa from the small Raygorod. This is my idea.
Although the pogrom of 1871 was occasioned in part by a rumor that Jews had vandalized the Greek communitys church, many non-Greeks participated, as they had done during earlier disorders in 1859. The 1871 pogrom was the first to attract national attention.

Judge Webster issued a citation commanding Harry Adler to appear to show cause why he shall not pay the $30 to the petitioner.
Morning Oregonian. (Portland, Or.) April 22, 1904, In answer to the suit of his father, Isaac Adler, for support, Harry Adler a furniture dealer at 66.5 North Third St, alleges that his father is only 54 years old [[b. 1851]], is able bodied and can earn his own living. The father, so the son says, has been engaged in the junk business and has a wife in Los Angeles who owns property. Harry alleges that he is married, has a partner in the store and there is an agreement between them that they only draw $10 per week. Under the circumstances he is utterly unable to do anything for the old man. .
