There is a notice in the Oregonian from 1905 showing the sale of the stock of Adler & Block Bloch and the plant to "conduct a general house furnishing business. New and second-hand house furnishings bought, sold or exchanged."
Harry (Bernadine cant shed any light on the initial issue) was jollyand fun. His family in Seattle seems to have been the one with which Bernadines family spent the most time. Harry died around 1931. He and Sadie, of whom Bernadine seems to have been quite fond, had two sons, Phil, born around 1901, and Joyle, perhaps eight years younger.

Los Angeles Herald > 10 June 1896 THAT LITTLE QAME OF PINOCHLE Sid Shlrek Did Not Loue an Order but Came Out on Top On Monday morning last a story was printed in the Herald giving the particulars of a quiet little game of pinochle which occurred between two clothing drummers at San Diego, the participants being Ike Hyman and Sid Shlrek. both of San Francisco. The game was for trifling stakes, enough to make it interesting, but it was stated that Hyman had started the game merely to keep Shirek occupied while Hyraan's traveling companion. Harry Adler, was out hustling for orders, thus forestalling Shlrek. The latter personage Is now in the city and thinks the laugh, instead of being 011 him, should be on Hyman. He claims that while the game of pinochle did occur and he got a little the best of it, the story about Adler's forestalling him on an order is a fairy tale, pure and simple. He cleaned up the town and Adler had his hustling for his pains. How the story got started he Is at a loss to know, except as a Joke, which it undoubtedly was.
Age at death cert says b. 30 Jan 1875 and not 1874. 59y 3m 20 days.
