Dorothy Florence Hanson 58, died at her home in Buffalo Center Sunday, November 24, 1996, following a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 28, 2:00 p.m., at First Congregational Church with Rev. David Langer officiating. Interment was in West Zion Cemetery near Rake. Visitation was Tuesday evening, 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Winter Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

They lived in Willmar, Walters and Wells, Minnesota during her husband's working years, returning to their hometown of Buffalo Center in Juneof 1994 to retire. Music was furnished by Jan Missman as organist and the Ladies Ensemble sang. Casketbearers were Daniel Carlson, Grant Johanson, Royce Murra, Steve Bosnia, Harley Hassebroek and Ray Bosnia.
Memorials are suggested to First Congregational Church Sunday School or to Hospice of North Iowa.
Dorothy Florence (Mastin) Hanson was born December 29, 1937 in Buffalo Center, the daughter of Wm. Paul and Lillian (Bosma) Mastin. She attended Buffalo Center grade school and graduated from Buffalo Center Community High School in1955. She attended Mankato Commercial College at Mankato, Minnesota. She was employed as secretary to the superintendent of schools in Lake Mills and also worked at Fanners Trust & Savings Bank in Buffalo Center before her marriage.
She married Marlyn D. Hanson September 22, 1961 at First Congregational Church, Buffalo Center. "a member most of her life. She was active in teaching Sunday School, Bible School, youth activities, and ladies church committees in the churches of the communities in which she lived. Flower gardening, crafts, traveling with herhusband, and spending time with her grandchildren were the joys of her days.
Survivors include her husband, Marlyn, of Buffalo Center; two sons: Paul Marlyn and his wife, Diane, of Eden Prairie, Minnesota, and Dr. Todd Jeffrey of St. Anthony Village, Minnesota; three grandchildren, Jacob, Emily and Jessica Hansonof Eden Prairie, Minnesota. Also surviving are her parents, Wm. Paul and Lillian Mastin of Buffalo Center; two sisters, Delores Loewe and her husband, Orval, of LeCenter, Minnesota, and Ramona Carlson and her husband, David, of Wesley;as well as nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and cousins."
