Funeral services for James Ralph Mastin, 92, were held Wednesday, March 10 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Blue Earth, Minnesota. Rev. S. Bohling, Rev. Kenneth Carlson and Rev. Gary Terrio officiated. Interment was inRiverside Cemetery in Blue Earth. James passed away Saturday, March 6, 2004 at the United Hospital in Blue Earth. Patton Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Blue Earth was in charge of arrangements.
James Ralph Mastin, son of James K. and Lydia P. (Spencer) Mastin, was born January 8, 1912 at Buffalo Center. He was raised and attended Country School near Buffalo Center. On December 6, 1933 he was united in marriage to Esther B.Bosma at Buffalo Center.
James worked as a farm hand until 1936 when he started farming on his own. Ralph and Esther farmed in the Blue Earth-Elmore areas until retiring in 1975 and purchasing a home in Blue Earth. They spent their winters in Arizona until Estherpassed away in 1995. On January 29, 1998 he was united in marriage to Pearl Kerstiens at Mesa, Arizona. Pearl passed away later that year. ..." <>

Funeral services for Esther B. Mastin, 80, of Blue Earth, Minnesota were held Wednesday, September 20, 11:00 a.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church, Blue Earth. Pastors Stephen Bohling and Clark Gary officiated. Burial was in RiversideCemetery, Blue Earth, with Patton Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Mastin died Sunday morning, September 17, 1995 at United Hospital, Blue Earth.
Casket bearers were grandsons, Scott Albrecht, Randy Anderson, Tim Darnell, David Lewis, Bruce Mastin and Greg Mastin. Honorary bearers were the remaining grandsons of Mrs. Mastin. Diane Manske was organist.
Esther Bernice Bosnia was born May 26, 1915 on the family farm near Buffalo Center, daughter of Thomas and Florence (Adams) Bosma.
On December 5, 1933 she married James Ralph Mastin in Buffalo Center. They farmed in the Buffalo Center area. In 1940 they moved to the Blue Earth area and farmed there until 1954 when they moved to a farm south of Elmore. They retiredfrom farming in 1975 and moved into Blue Earth. The last 26 years they have spent the winters in Mesa, Arizona.
Through the years she has been a member of the Methodist Church in Buffalo Center, Immanuel United Methodist Church in Blue Earth, Shiloh Lutheran Church in Elmore, and Trinity Lutheran Church in Blue Earth. She was very active in ladieschurch organizations, Sunday School, also 4-H leader and Riverside Garden Club.
Esther is survived by her husband, Ralph, of Blue Earth; two sons: Roger and Julene Mastin of Elmore and Kenneth and lona Mastin of Blue Earth; four daughters: Donna (Mrs. Reynold) Anderson of Blue Earth, Sharon (Mrs. Carl) Vincent ofPlymouth, Minnesota; Janice (Mrs. Elgene) Darnell of Maple Grove, Minnesota, and Judith (Mrs. Alan) Albrecht of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota; 19 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are three brothers, Heiko Bosma and Jim Bosma, both of Buffalo Center, and Clarence Bosma of Mason City; four sisters, Mrs. Norman (Annabel) Oswald of Frost, Minnesota; Mrs. Paul (Lillian) Mastin, Mrs. Harvey (Grace) Hassebroek, both of Buffalo Center, and Mrs. Bessie Weaver of Britt; many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and two sisters."
