Suffered Stroke of Paralysis Friday. Funeral Was Held Last Thursday Afternoon
Mrs. Fred Kadoes passed away at her home in northeast part of Buffalo Center Monday morning, January 12 at 8:10 o'clock.She suffered a stroke of paralysis at five o'clock when her husband found her in a semi-conscious condition on thekitchen floor. On Sunday another stroke befell her which led to her death. For about five years Mrs. Kadoes began to fail in health, suffering from rheumatism. She bore her ailment with great fortitude. Sunday after she had sufferedthe second stroke it was generally known that there was small hope of her recovery, but the news of her passing brought grief to the hearts of innumerable friends and acquaintances who had known and lover her in life. Anna Boeckholt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Boeckholt and last surviving member of the entrie family, was born in Oestfriesland, Germany , Dec. 21, 1856. She came to America in 1886 and settled in Kossuth county, Iowa. Here the sameyear she was united in wedlock with Fred Kadoes. Five children were born to this union, two sons and three daughters, one daughter and the two sons have preceded the mother in death. Two daughters with the aged husband survive. Theyare Mrs. Andrew Albers of this place and Mrs. Ben Behrends of Grasston, Minn. For a time the family resided on a farm in Kossuth county and later moved to a farm four miles south of Buffalo Center. Eighteen years ago they purchased ahouse in Buffalo Center and this has been their home since. God blessed them with material goods and with many years of good health and together they shared the joys and sorrows of life for over forty years. Others that mourn her deathare six grandchildren and one great grandchild. Mrs. Kodoes attained the age of 74 years and 21 days. - Buffalo Center Tribune." <>
