"Rites Held Here Monday For Annie Albers
Funeral services for Mrs. Annie Albers were held Monday afternoon, July 3, 1961, at the Winter Funeral Home in Buffalo Center at 1:30 P. M., followed with services at the First Reformed church in Buffalo Center with Rev. Harlan Kruse ofLakota, Iowa, in charge. Interment was in Olena Mound cemetery, Buffalo Center with Dick Sleper, Louis Jensen, Ole Beekman, Justice Sullivan, Charles Tutton and Ray Elman serving as pallbearers.
Annie Albers was born November 29, 1881 at Eastfriesland, Germany. She was the oldest daughter of Fred and Annie Kadoes. The first five years of her life was spent in Germany. In 1886 she came to America with her parents and theysettled in Kossuth County. She lived there until the time of her marriage.
On October 6, 1904, she was joined in marriage to Andrew Albers. To this union five children were born. Mr. and Mrs. Albers were farming south of Buffalo Center until the death of her husband, who passed away on January 16, 1941.Following his death Mrs. Albers moved to Buffalo Center where she resided for twenty years.
After a year of illness she was unable to stay alone and was taken to the home of her oldest daughter (Jessie) Mrs. Nelmer Matson. She made here home there for the past twenty months.
On June 29th she suddenly, became worse and was taken by ambulance to the Buffalo Center Hospital were she passed away shortly after.
Mrs. Albers was made an honorary member of the Senior Ladies Aid of the Reformed church. She also shared in other activities.
Surviving are the following: Jessie (Mrs. Nelmer Matson) of Buffalo Center; Annie (Mrs. Alrich Burma) Thornton; Teda (Mrs. Henry Krull), Buffalo Center; Anna (Mrs. Fred Westendorf), Mason City; Fred Albers of Swea City.
In addition to her children, Mrs. Albers leaves to mourn, nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Anna Behrends of Mora, Minnesota. She also leaves a host of relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death was her husband, two brothers and one sister." <>
