'Harvey R. Heyer, 72 Funeral services for Harvey R. Heyer, 72, were held Tuesday, January 14 at the Ramsey Reformed Church, rural Titonka [German Twp.] at 1:30 p.m. Pastor Dennis Redeker officiated. Music was provided by organistMarlene Krull and the Ramsey Church Woman's Trio consisting of Yvonne Rippentrop, Lennice Harms and Wilda Ubben. Honorary casketbearers were Sarah Kakacek, Jessica Heyer, Alexandria Zwiefel, Samantha Heyer, Melissa Heyere, RachelVenteicher, Erin Raney and Justin Harvey Heyer. Casketbearers were Jason Heyer, Colin Doughan, Ryan Doughan, Joshua Heyer, Greg Raney, Jeremy Heyer, Adam Doughan, Chris Heyer, Andrew Heyer and Jesse Heyer. Interment was in the RamseyReformed Cemetery in rural Titonka [German Twp.] Harvey passed away at his home in Titonka on Sunday, January 12, 2003. Garry-Roberts-Murphy-Schaaf Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Harvey Ralph Heyer, son of George and Gesina (Janssen) Heyer, was born in rural Titonka on June 17, 1930. He attended school in Titonka, Lakota, Bancroft and Buffalo Center. He graduated from Buffalo Center High School in 1948. He wasunited in marriage to Ramona Mae Aukes at the First Congregational Church in Buffalo Center on November 7, 1950. The couple farmed for one season and then started what became Heyer Livestock and Trucking. He retired in 1995 selling hisbusiness to his son, Craig. He remained involved in the business.
Harvey loved life and spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was active at Ramsey Reformed church, Gideons and the community. He enjoyed playing fast pitch softball in his younger years. Hisother hobbies included fishing, boating and spending time at his cabin. Harvey dedicated his entire life to serving his Lord.
Harvey is survived by his wife of 52 years, Ramona, of Titonka; his six xhildren: Steven and his wife, Joleen, of Titonka; Craig and his wife, Judy, of Titonka; Ronda of Ankeny; Connie Doughan and her husband, Larry, of Ledyard; Mike andhis wife, Denise, of Titonka; Linda Raney and her husband, Mark, of Ankeny; 16 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three brothers: Lawrence of Altamont, Missouri; Cecil of Titonka; Gordon of Kansas City, Kansas; many nieces andnephews. He was proceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Alfred and James.'
