I was net surfing this Sunday AM ( July 17, 2005) and was wondering if I could learn anything about the Rippentrop genealogy.
My mother's maiden name was Rippentrop. Her father was George J Rippentrop of Titionka, Iowa and members of Ramsey Reformed Church of Titonka.

Edgar Rippentrop, 55 Passes Away Suddenly
Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 10 at St. Paul, Minn. for Edgar Rippentrop, 55. The Speilman Funeral Home was in charge with the Rev. Charles Grant officiating. Organist was Frank Stienman Funeral Home was in charge with theRev. Charles Grant officiating. Organist was Frank Stienhauser an and soloist was Thomas Owens. Interment was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Casket bearers were Roger Rippentrop, Marvin Rippentrop, Warren LeMay, Craig Spates, KenSpates and Scott Spates.
Mr. Rippentrop passed away Friday, March 5 of a heart attack while removing snow on the sidewalk at his home in White Bear Lake, Minn.
Edgar Rippentrop was born February 10, 1921 to George and Anna Swalve Rippentrop at Titonka. He received his s schooling in the Titonka area and graduated from Titonka High School. He was convirmed at the Ramsey Reformed Church andattended that church while he lived in this vicinity. He attended Uper Iowa University at Fayette for one year. He was employed for a time at the Titonka Locker and as a farmhand for various farmers. He was also a construction workerbefore enlisting in the Marine Corp where he served for three years. Following receiveng his honorable discharge, he settled in the St. Paul area where he was engaged in construction work until the time of his death.
He is survived by one daughter Mrs. Steve (Karen) Carlyle, two grandchildren, three stepchildren, Kenneth Spates, Craig Spates and mrs. Gail LeMay; and 14 step-grandchildren. Also mourning his passing are two brothers, John and Ray ofTitonka; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Hippen of Buffalo Center; three sisters, Mrs. Albert (Jennie) Sleper of Titonka, Mrs. Alvin (Irene) Gray of Chili, Wisc. and Mrs. Vernon (Iola) Gray of Corwith,; many nieces, nephews, relatives andfriends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, James, Irvin and Andrew." <>
