James M. Jarvill was born June 2, 1933, the son of Ernest R. and Edith (Mather) Jarvill in Laurens, Iowa. He attended high school in Laurens and graduated in 1952. He married Geraldine A. Albers in Buffalo Center on Oct. 9, 1955.
Jim was drafted into the United States Army in November 1955 and served in the Korean War until his discharge in 1957. He then moved to Mason City in 1957, where he worked for the Esselte Pendaflex Corp., Hedrick Bros., and the KliptoCorp.
Jim enjoyed collecting golf balls, working with the youth hockey association and working on craft projects.
He was a member of the Sertoma Club, Mason City Youth Hockey Association, Jaycees, and the Architectural Board of The Wells, in Mesa, Ariz. He was also a longtime member the First Presbyterian Church.
Jim is survived by his children, daughter, Janna and her husband, Bruce, Wuttke of Mason City; sons, David and wife, Katie, Jarvill of Charles City, and Thomas Jarvill of Mason City; grandchildren, Andrew and Amanda Wuttke, Keely, Sam andWill Jarvill; sister, Donah Thede of Gladbrook, Iowa; and special friend, Barbara Lewis, of Mesa, Ariz.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Geraldine; and brother, Larry Jarvill.

Geraldine A. Jarvill, 63, 1140 West State St., died Sunday (Aug. 25, 1996) at North Iowa Mercy Health Center after a lengthy illness.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church, 201 Willowbrook Drive S.W., with the Rev. Donald Simmonds officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood-St.Joseph Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave., and one hour prior to services at the church.
Memorials may be given to American Cancer Society, Charlie Brown Day Care or the First Presbyterian Church in her memory.
Geraldine A. Jarvill was born Jan. 1, 1933, the first child of that year born in Winnebago County, the daughter of Ted and Fanna (Hippen) Albers. She attended and graduated from Buffalo Center High School in 1950 and Central College in1953.
Geraldine married James M. Jarvill on Oct. 9, 1955, in Buffalo Center.
She taught school at Estherville for four years and also taught in Mason City.
In 1977, Geraldine began working for Charlie Brown Day Care where she served as assistant director. That same year, she also became involved with the child-care food program where she currently served as coordinator.
Geraldine enjoyed working with the children, genealogy and spending time with her grandchildren.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, where she served as a Deacon and F.A.D.A.C.A.
Survivors include her husband, James M. Jarvill, of Mason City; daughter, Janna K. Wuttke and her husband, Bruce, of Mason City; sons, David J. Jarvill and his wife, Katie, of Charles City, and Thomas E. Jarvill of Mason City; fivegrandchildren, Andrew and Amanda Wuttke, Keely, Sam and Will Jarvill; her father, Ted Albers of Buffalo Center; sister, Delores Nelson and her husband, Walter, of Menlo Park, Calif.; brother, Darrell Albers and his wife, Maureen, ofOyster Bay Cove, N.Y.; and nieces and nephews." <>
