He [George Plantagenet] m. 11 Jul 1469, at Calais, Isabel, 1st daughterand coheir presumptive of Richard Nevill, Earl of Warwick and Salisbury,by Anne, daughter of Richard Beauchamp, Earl of Warwick. She, who was b.5 Sep 1451 at Warwick Castle, d. there 22 Dec 1476, and was buried atTewkesbury. He thereupon proposed to marry Mary, daughter of the Duke ofBurgundy, a match which was much opposed by the Queen Consort. He wasaccused of high treason, found guilty, and attainted 8 Feb 1477/8,whereby all his honours became forfeited. He was executed in the Towerof London 18 Feb following (said to have been drowned in a butt ofmalmsey), and was buried at Tewkesbury, aged 28. [Complete PeerageIII:260-1]
