John S. DAVIS was named an executor of Henry DAVIS, along with Thomas DAVIS. Thomas is shown in a deed to be Henry's brother. It is an assumption that John S. (which may stand for SIMS) is a son of Henry and could have been just under 21 in 1838/39. It is also possible that he is a son of Thomas DAVIS and therefore a nephew to Henry. Have not found any document that names John S. DAVIS' parents.
The following deed abstracts involving John S. DAVIS as administrator for John STREETER not only make sense if he was his brother-in-law (each married a BURT), but it appears that John DAVIS' grandmother may have been Charlotte Powell Sims, a sister of John Streeter's mother, Mildred Powell Streeter.
