    "Johan was een van de jongste uit het gezin met 11 kinderen. VAn jongs af aan heeft hij mee gehlpen op de berderij en altijd op het land gewerkt.


    In 1963 trouwede hij met Angela (Ankie) Weijnans met wie hij samen 1 zoon en 2 dochters kreeg.


    Johan was een boer min hart en nieren. Hij kon niet stil zitten en wilden het liefste altijd buiten zijn. In het vroege voorjaar begon het al te kriebelen om alle gewassen weer in de grond te krijgen en in de winter zat hij uren lang aan zijn machines te sleutelen.


    Op de zondagen ging Johan na de kerk een eind fietsen met Ankie. Ook heeft hij enorm genoten van zijn kleindochter en vier kleinzonenvdie van kleins af aan met veel plezier meehielpen  op het bedrijf. Er was niets leuker dan bij opa op de trekker of de combine te zitten.


    Na zijn beenbreuk in 2009 is het Johan met veel wilskracht en doorzettingsvermogen gelukt om zijn land en tuin te blijven bewerken. .


    Net toen alles weer redelijk geod genezen was, kreeg hij plots een ernstige longontseking waarna bleek dat hij een ongeneeslijke ziekte had.


    Hij heeft ruim een jaar lang moedig tegen zijn ziekte gevochten en probeerder elke dag nog even naar buiten te gaan om te genieten van ijn tuin en om langs de akkers te rijden."
