    mbrose H. Hake, age 81, of St. Elizabeth, passed away Monday, August 10, 2009, at the St. Elizabeth Care Center. He was born in Marys Home on October 18, 1927, son of the late Conrad Antone and Ida (Volmert) Hake. On February 17, 1981, in Miami, Oklahoma, Ambrose married Peggy (Smith) Warman, who survives at the home.

    He was a member of Iberia VFW, American Legion, and the Miller County Historical Society. Ambrose attended St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church.

    He is also survived by three sons, Bill Hake and wife Jennie of Eldon, Donald "Bubba" Hake of St. Elizabeth, and David Hake of Fort Smith, Arkansas; one daughter, Becky Perkins and husband Joel of Rolla; two stepsons, Kerry Warman of Pleasant Hill and Kirk Warman and wife Twyla of Iberia; two stepdaughters, Kathy Smith and husband Bob of Independence and Kelly Sanders and husband Dennis of Jefferson City; two grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Kellison of Lawrence Kansas; and one brother, Larry Hamacher of Kansas City.

    He was preceded in death by one infant sister, Dorothy Hake.

    Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, August 13, 2009, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. Rev. Daniel Lueckenotte will officiate. Interment with military honors under the direction of the Iberia VFW Post 6167 and American Legion Post 105 will be in Iberia Cemetery.

    Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, August 12, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia.

    Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
